My experience in reading this far has been unexpected to say the least. Classes and workload are manageable but my main issue lies with the teaching itself. The lecturers have a hands off mentality and almost leave you to teach yourself sometimes. They simply display their pre planned slides, read off it in the most unbothered tone imaginable and dismiss the class. This is definitely a good fit for people who thrive when working independently but unfortunately I am used to a more hands on approach so I would keep that in mind before attending this university.

I really enjoyed my time at Reading University studying for my master’s degree, the uni hosts lots of social events to network with other students in your cohort so you get to know other students easily and quickly. The campus is set up for social interactions, with lots of chill group study spaces and multiple food places and cafes to have lunch at with friends.
Additionally, the support you receive from the staff, especially for a master’s is excellent – I felt supported throughout the academic year.
The only downside to this university is the price of the halls which are expensive, its also hard to find university housing as a master’s student as the houses are mostly taken up with undergraduate students. So with this in mind, make sure you plan way ahead of time if you are applying here to look for housing.
View moreI like this university. To start, I really love the campus as there is a lot of natural greenery and earthy tones to it. Some people aren’t students as well who come to enjoy the lovely scenery. The community at my university is very welcoming and there are always events going on so it’s nice to always be a part of something. The lectures are extremely kind and always helpful.

My course mates have made me become a lot more productive than i was at the beginning. My days now consists of library dates and going to the gym after. View moreI am yet to join the University of Reading, but hope to, following results day this year. I was thoroughly impressed upon my visits to Reading University as of the vast range of departments and the positive impression I received from the student body. However, I was fascinated by the separate smaller campus for arts and architecture and hope to join there this September. It is a memory that has stuck with me and helped me cement my choice in my firm university.
