A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
I enjoyed my time at the University of Hertfordshire overall. What stood out most was the mix of academic learning and practical work, which helped make the course feel relevant to real-world careers. The campus facilities were modern and easy to access, and there was a good variety of societies and activities outside of classes.
Some lecturers were particularly engaging and supportive, especially when it came to providing feedback and guidance. One area that could be improved is consistency across modules, as some classes felt more organised than others. Overall, I would recommend the university to students looking for a friendly environment with strong career-focused opportunities.
View moreA genuinely strong experience so far, and one I’d recommend without hesitation to anyone considering it.
What I like most is the course content and how it’s designed. Modules like Digital Marketing Toolbox and Digital Leadership don’t just stay theoretical but we get to implement what we learn with live clients and real projects. That mix of theory and practice is what makes the course stand out for me, because you finish each module with skills you can actually use.
The Effective Marketing Management module was a real highlight. I came in expecting it to be mostly technical, but I ended up learning a lot of soft skills too, from communication to leadership, which are the kind of things that genuinely carry over into the workplace.
As an international student, I was expecting it to take a while to settle in, but the environment honestly made it feel like home early on. The teaching staff are approachable and cooperative, and there’s a constant support and check-in system, so you never feel left to figure things out alone.
The online resources are excellent and a big practical plus. Everything from laptop loan services to the online library is available 24/7, so you can study on your own terms. The course is well organised too: the assignment briefs are clear, the grading is fair, and the structure is up to the mark throughout.
On careers, the university puts real effort in. The career fairs and direct meetup sessions with employers gave us genuine opportunities to make connections and think seriously about life after graduation.
Would I recommend it? Yes, without hesitation. The mix of practical experience, supportive teaching, and strong career support makes it well worth it, especially if you want a marketing degree that prepares you for real work rather than just exams.
Excellent staff. Helped me throughout my journey in my masters and ensured that I had a seamless journey. They made sure to he available throughout my dissertation module as well and gave me 100% support.

View moreI have recently started at the University studying a Digital Marketing undergraduate degree and I have thoroughly enjoyed my first week. The campus is big with many facilities catering to all your needs. It consists of a sports village which includes a swimming pool and more, a huge library, a number of quiet study areas as well as an array of food & dining options including a Starbucks!
The university also provides excellent support for your studies with kind, supportive lecturers, CASE advisors as well as personal tutors and peer mentors who are always there to offer their support. The university truly allows students to feel supported and valued arranging for weekly events, job placements, job fairs and so much more. Other than this, there are a lot more facilities which cater to your needs as a student ensuring your time at the university brings a positive experience.
The Univeristy is huge and prioritises it’s students with facilties and high quality education. This is all I could ask for but that is not all. The supermarket and the gym is within the campus and there is a huge walking track where students can explore. The staff are helpful and resourceful, to them students are more important and therefore; the services they provide are high quality and quick. The course outline is well planned put for our better understanding and to follow along instructions and the timetable, there are apps to download which can easily guide its students. Overall my experience has been great and I could not ask for more. I am happy to be a student in this University.
View moreI live in the accomodations in College Lane Campus and I absolutely love this University for prioritising its students and providing high quality services and education. I applied for Masters in Illustration (Design) and although it overwhelming I am satisfied with the course outline. The campus is huge and it allows me to walk long distances which I do love. There are facilities available within the campus therefore; you are not required to leave campus since everything is available within our vicinity. There isn’t anything particularly bad about the campus because I have been having a great experience overall. I am thankful to be a part if just an incredible institution.
