The University of Pretoria, known affectionately as TUKS, is a calm campus, offering large outdoor spaces where students gather and work collaboratively on assignments and join study groups. The campus has restaurants where you can eat (and read over your friend’s assignment before they hand it in), a bar, student support centre and direct access to lecturers for educational support. The sports campus is nearby with a shuttle bus travelling between the two campuses. There is gym and many other sporting activities open to all students at affordable costs. Tutoring with 3rd year students is available, free of charge, to close learning gaps in a safe and friendly environment.
That being said, I do wish the university was more proactive in supporting 3rd and 4th year students landing internships or part-time jobs. Campus housing is also limited and only offered to a select few students (and you must apply well in advance). However, there is affordable accommodation nearby.
