View moreNova’s MSc in Finance is the best program in Portugal. The quality of the professors is notable, they are very approachable. Career opportunities are broad and limitless.
The school’s campus is super modern, with many spots to study and to chill. It is located right next to the beach, which allows you to go for nice walks, surf sessions, and so on, to keep your work-life balance.
Your peers will be highly motivated and highly skilled individuals, which creates the perfect environment for a great learning experience.
Having that said, Nova is by far one of the best choices you can make.
View moreUndoubtedly one of the best Portuguese universities. Most of my master’s students are international as are the professors. The campus is beautiful and it’s right on the seafront. Undoubtedly an excellent price-quality ratio.
View moreI’ve had a really good experience with the MSc at Nova SBE. The classes are knowledgeable and interactive, and the professors are encouraging, approachable and genuinely helpful. Most courses also involve group work, so you get to collaborate with students from very different backgrounds.
The trimester system can make some courses feel quite fast-paced, as you often have only around 1.5 months before exams, but it also keeps things engaging. The campus is beautiful and right next to the beach, which is a huge plus.
Career services are also one of Nova’s strongest points. Almost every week there are networking events, company sessions or opportunities organised through Career Services and the different student clubs, so there is always something going on.
View moreThe campus is incredible, the professors are very good and the teaching pace is appropriate for the level of complexity. There are a lot of group works but overall the other students are capable and motivated.
The program requires a lot of studying especially for the mandatory classes, even with a background in Finance.
The available electives encompass enough topics, to where anyone can find some they are interested in.
I’ve studied at this university during 5 years, and I truly believe it gives you the best experiences you can have while in college.
The international community allows you to live in a bubble full of diversity. The uni itself has English as the main teaching language and promotes the Erasmus program, reason for which a big share of bachelor students go abroad.
The student’s union is very active, always arranges events for students to hang out and fights for the students’ rights.
The corporate partners’ list is also very extensive and you will not lack networking events.
Overall, comparing to other foreign universities, I consider that our offices work well, people are nice and friendly.
The new campus is also a masterpiece. However, the library wasn’t well planned as it’s too small to satisfy the demand for seats and desks. This is very sad as the university had the chance to make something good from scratch and it’s just a nightmare to find a quiet place to study.
Another downside for me is the location. Although being at the beach is a nice sales’ argument, the truth is that it’s far from the centre of lisbon. The train that takes us to campus is overcrowded and hot.
Then, it’s a university still very focused on theory and less on practice. It creates big expectations on students who then realize that in the job market, they are not that special.
I studied at Nova SBE for 4 and a half years, firstly as a Management Undergraduate student and afterwards as a Masters in Finance student, at this university I learned multiple professional and personal skills, worked with people from all over the words and joined lots of extracurricular activities. Put together this enabled me to be more confident when starting my professional career and to be a clear choice for companies. I honestly recommend anyone to join this school and to have this great experience
View moreOverall, what strikes me about the uni is the intentionality. Although the race for higher rankings plays a huge part in this, Nova is generally obsessed with feedback. They want to make every little detail better, they want to ensure the students have the best time on campus, the best teaching experience, etc.
However, I think they should be more intentional about the number of charging outlets in uni. Far too few haha
View moreI studied at nove for 5 years during my Bachelors and Masters. The university prepared me for the future and provided me an amazing learning experience. I had the opportunity to make great friends, learn from amazing professors and prepare myself for a promising career. The university is quite international with 50% of masters students being foreign, it offers a lot of exchange programs in more then 50 countries, it encourages us to go abroad for internships and they use English as the main language to prepare us for an international future.
The school offers a lot of different programs, there are many clubs we can join depending on our preferences and there are also a lot of sports teams. Every year there are two career fairs and many networking events or company presentations. We always have opportunities to speak to big companies or even do projects with them.
The school services work well, they are really helpful, they are just a little busy in certain periods like the beginning of the school year.
The facilities are great, near the beach but also close to the city center. The campus is huge, the classrooms are modern and there is always something happening at the school.
I recommend the university to every future students that wants to learn management, economics or finance and also wants to study in a dynamic city like Lisbon and in a top university like Nova.
View moreIn the BSc, you will suffer from subpar grades, and during the MSc you will be overwhelmed by the workload, but in the end it will give a very good preparation for the future. One of the best Finance schools in Europe, especially with the new campus in Carcavelos!
