he University of Coimbra is a place steeped in history and tradition, with a legacy spanning hundreds of years. One of the most memorable aspects of my time there was the strong sense of community and belonging. Being part of such a prestigious institution made me feel connected to something truly special.
I particularly enjoyed the cultural richness and the pride that comes with being a student at one of the oldest universities in the world. However, one aspect I found challenging was the occasional lack of proximity between professors and students. Some professors held onto a very closed and traditional mindset, which at times made interactions feel less dynamic or approachable.
Still, I wholeheartedly recommend the University of Coimbra. It offers not just an education, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience filled with charm and opportunities for growth. It’s a place that will stay with you forever.

I am proud to have experienced my academic life at the University of Coimbra. In this magnificent city that lives to and from students, it fills us with academics, which tells us stories at every corner, which reaches us by the notes and voices of the fado of Coimbra.
In Coimbra, above all I learned many of the values that fill me as an adult and a person. For all the cultural and associative experiences offered by the UC, for all the history that it carries through all these years through the oldest Academic Association of Portugal.
Environmental Engineering is taught at Polo II – Engineering Center of the University of Coimbra in the Department of Civil Engineering. In UC the Integrated Master in Environmental Engineering is more directed to the subjects of planning and planning of the territory and waters. With prestigious professors and with some political influence, focused on the scientific investigation. And this is the gap I identify at the University of Coimbra, it may lack the understanding that students and teachers need to be connected with applied projects in the industry. Creating connections and opportunities for students.
