I loved my time at the University of Bamberg because of several factors. The Bachelor I chose to study there was unique in the way it was offered in Bamberg, there are many optional courses and every student can put together his or her individual schedule with times and topics that he or she liked best. Apart from that, the University of Bamberg is very international, there are hundreds of international students incoming as well as hundreds of students from Bamberg outgoing.
Regarding the professors and tutors, of course, there were some really good ones and other ones that presented their slides with less enthusiasm. You will figure out how you study best during your 3 years at University anyway. Sometimes it’s honestly better to stay at home and study for yourself…
Next, to that, our buildings are not on one campus, but we do have several smaller campuses where there is always a nice atmosphere and where you always meet someone you know.
There is also a big offer in student organisations. I was part of the student association AEGEE-Bamberg/European Students’ Forum, which enriched my student life in a way that I found amazing friends, I travelled a lot of thanks to AEGEE, I took part in different soft skill training and developed myself by working in AEGEE both on a local level, organizing projects and events and being part of the managing board and on the European level, participating in events and taking leading roles in our trans-national groups.
I would totally recommend the University of Bamberg to anyone who wants to study in a cozy, familiar atmosphere, who likes to engage himself in extracurricular activities and who likes UNESCO world heritage city centres. You will love Bamberg!
