UFMG is truly special – great professors, top-notch research, and a welcoming international relationship with the world.
As an Engineering student currently pursuing a double degree in France, I’ve experienced both worlds. Studying at a top French school, I observed that UFMG stands out for its teaching quality and outstanding labs, even in a developing country.
The professors here not only excel academically but also inspire students to explore the scientific realm. UFMG’s commitment to excellence in engineering is evident. The high-quality labs provide hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Unfortunately, for engineering students, the university isn’t very open to relations with private companies, but this is a general issue in Brazilian universities.
What makes UFMG even more unique is its global outlook. The university values international connections, offering diverse programs and partnerships worldwide. As someone in a dual-degree program, I appreciate how UFMG’s openness to the world enriches academic journeys, preparing students for global challenges and a multicultural point of view. Not only does UFMG offer multiple opportunities to its students, but it also welcomes international students from different countries, creating a rich environment on the Pampulha campus.
The campus is filled with life, featuring numerous student activities and natural surroundings. It’s great to see well-preserved nature in the middle of the city. With more than five libraries and a robust Wi-Fi network on campus, you can also study in various spaces. Additionally, UFMG provides multiple opportunities, including free language courses.
