A controversy university

I am personally studying in Administration and international exchanges, in my 3rd year and I have been experiencing a lot of things in this university. Indeed, it is important to know that I have been a student during the Covid period, a hard time for everyone. Out of this, I would like to specify that there are very very interesting teachers who made me happy about going to class, I mean they are not just reading a PowerPoint, they are dedicated to their students, particularly my Spanish teacher, he is the only one really invested in our orientation, and I mean I am on my 3rd year, I had to choose where to go for next year and he was the only one to guide us a little bit, the black point is that with him we don't have a really organised class, but to me it was ok, I enjoyed it because he was no simply telling facts but taking real-life experiences and I really enjoyed it. In addition, during my first year, I had a very funny but interesting teacher, English teacher, kind of crazy, teaching us about market stocks... I really enjoyed my classes with him, same thing, he was INTERESTING, DYNAMIC. There are also other teachers that really great but I mean these two are REALLY nice to study with. The drawbacks of this university are that there is no organisation, we received the exams information less than one week before it started one time. Then, we normally have a referent teacher for each Parcours, I have NEVER seen mine in all my time at university, and I am not someone who misses classes a lot. I am disappointed about her because, I mean hopefully our Spanish teacher was here to inform us and help us not to miss some deadlines, important information... The biggest advantage of this university is that I had the opportunity to go for an Erasmus in the Czech Republic, for a semester and it was absolutely amazing, nothing bad to say about that, administrative persons were really reactive and efficient. The only little black point is that I basically applied to go to a university in Prague, and I was selected by BRNO. How was that possible? I don't know but I was determined to go, and I was right, it was amazing, I really recommend to all students to take the opportunities they are offered. Anyway, to sum up, this is a nice university, we don't have a huge amount of work to do, there is opportunities but you have to stay in touch with all going on and take as much opportunities as you can. Don't wait for your grades to arrive early because they will not. But enjoy and use the information transmitted by your teachers.

A formative and enriching experience

IÉSEG offers interactive teaching and international opportunities. I had the chance to go on an exchange to another country, which opened up new perspectives for me. The courses in Lille are stimulating, and the professors are very involved in our success.

Academic, Professional, and Creative Growth

Academic Opportunities: Building Connections and Research Experience Studying both my Bachelor's and Master's at École Polytechnique has been an incredibly enriching experience, particularly in terms of academic development and networking. The school provides exceptional opportunities to connect with academic officers who offer valuable guidance on CV-building and career pathways. Additionally, the support from the economics department and faculty members has been instrumental in shaping my career aspirations. Currently, I am working as a research assistant, and I am about to embark on my fifth research experience. My journey so far has included both voluntary and contractual positions under the guidance of two professors. These experiences have spanned multiple disciplines, including economics, statistics, mathematics, and coding. The interdisciplinary nature of these projects has allowed me to develop a well-rounded skill set and a deep appreciation for research. With aspirations to pursue a PhD, I find the academic environment at École Polytechnique highly supportive. The connections I have built with faculty members and researchers have been invaluable in shaping my future career path. The guidance and mentorship provided by the faculty have significantly contributed to my academic and professional growth. During my Bachelor's, tutoring sessions taught by engineering students were incredibly helpful in improving my understanding of difficult mathematics concepts. These sessions have often been a lifesaver, helping me grasp complex topics and ultimately succeed in exams. Communication Challenges and Professional Development I participate in English programs, but some projects in collaboration with the city of Paris involve French professionals and authorities. As a non-native French speaker with Chinese as my mother tongue, communication with professionals at École Polytechnique has sometimes been challenging, especially when some professors or professionals are more comfortable speaking French rather than English. However, through group projects, navigating complex team dynamics, and facing tough situations with professionals, I have developed essential communication skills. These experiences have allowed me to gradually build my professional toolbox, equipping me with the necessary skills to adapt and thrive in an international academic and professional environment. Extracurricular Engagement: Fostering Creativity and Community Beyond academics, École Polytechnique has been a vibrant space for my passion for the arts. The school's strong support for extracurricular activities has allowed me to work alongside like-minded, art-loving peers and receive guidance from faculty members who facilitate event organization and club development. During my Bachelor's, I established the Art Committee, and in my Master's, I co-founded MX-ARTS, an art and performing arts club. Through these initiatives, we organized showcases, art exhibitions, and talent shows, gradually expanding our network to collaborate with 12 different clubs across Bachelor's, Master's, and Engineering programs. Career Support: Training and Professional Opportunities École Polytechnique provides comprehensive career training and consulting services to prepare students for professional success. The school's company forums and networking events serve as excellent platforms for students to connect with industry professionals and secure internships. Many of my classmates have successfully leveraged these resources to find rewarding internship opportunities in top firms and research institutions. Conclusion: A Transformative Experience Overall, my time at École Polytechnique has been transformative, offering a perfect balance between academic rigor, research exposure, creative expression, and career development. The institution's emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, mentorship, and extracurricular engagement has played a pivotal role in shaping my personal and professional journey. As I continue toward a PhD, I am grateful for the incredible support system and the opportunities that this institution has provided.

Experience in School

My experience in SKEMA Business School is very much enriching. It definitely help me to shape my career aspirations which align with my personal value and even worldview. The management system in my university quite efficient and systematic. Every year, we, students are required to give personal feedback on our learning and courses for each semesters. It is very helpful as it could assist my university to improve its lacking in every aspects.

Nothing to show

The cultural mix and the great atmosphere.

I loved being at Schiller in Heidelberg. The setting and the city were very serene and the exposure to all those students and teachers from such different and diverse backgrounds was a great learning experience. Additionally, the ease of accessing the Schiller campuses in the other countries was a great additional bonus to studying at Schiller. I would most definitely recommend Schiller to other students who are looking for a very culturally fulfilling experience.
