A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
I am currently going to what was once called Ashford University, which is now called the University of Arizona Global Campus, also known as Forbes School of Business and Technology, working to attain my BA in Marketing. I have completed 9 classes so far and have 29.5 credits out of the 120 I need for my degree. The school is accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). You can work towards obtaining various degrees ranging anywhere from your Associate’s Degree to a Doctoral Degree all online while still being able to work and take care of your family. The staff that I have interacted with so far along my academic journey have all been very inclusive and have worked with me to help with anything I have needed even before day one. The first point of contact I had was with Ms. Kathryn Wirz. The support I was given was so positive and impactful that I would have to say that I would not be where I am right now without her guidance and encouragement to push me to commit to bettering my life. My advisors and other support staff have been there whenever I have needed additional guidance and the response time has been prompt whenever I have reached out. The professors I have learned from thus far have all been supportive and understanding. I have to say, I completely feel like this school has my best interests in mind and would recommend anyone looking to pursue a higher educational degree to check them out, especially those who have everyday responsibilities that they think may be holding them back from achieving their desired careers.

They truly care about their students and go above and beyond to make sure we’re all learning and understanding the material. They’re always available to answer questions, and they create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. I’m so grateful to have such amazing professors guiding me through my academic journey.
View moreOne of the fulfilling things about this institution is the support you are provided with by either the professors, desk staffs even other students. Even if you have a busy lifestyle or schedule, you aren’t able to tell the difference. There isn’t any undue pressure from professors, you are able to work from home. The environment is also soothing, sights too see places to be. Besides actual lectures the school life is pretty amazing, would definitely recommend.
