My experience in the Geography and Environment program at WMU was excellent from start to finish. The professors were knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in student success, always willing to go the extra mile to explain concepts and offer guidance outside of class. The department has great resources, including lab equipment, GIS software, and research opportunities that let me apply what I learned in real, hands-on ways.

What stood out most was the sense of community. Classmates and faculty were supportive, and it never felt like a competitive environment more like everyone wanted each other to succeed. That support made a huge difference, and I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I’d highly recommend this program to anyone interested in geography, environmental science, or GIS.

The program prepared me well. I had some great professors who were truly passionate about education. The campus itself was clean and beautiful. Affordable housing was available and WMU supported students.
