I really enjoyed my time at the University of Surrey, studying English linguistics. The tutors were super knowledgeable and always had their doors open if you needed help. I made friends for life and enjoyed some memorable experiences. I will always hold fond memories of my time there.
View moreI love the fact that all the university course content can be accessed online such as lectures and slides and problem sets. This makes it very easy to go over all the content and study effectively. I enjoy the campus aswell.

View moreThe University of Surrey is close to London, with great career support and placement opportunities and a beautiful green campus. Which also offers a well-rounded student experience in a peaceful yet connected setting.
View moreI’m currently a second year student at Surrey and so far I have loved this university, it has a huge campus and I would definitely recommend living on campus if you get the opportunity. There are lots of places to hang out with friends, grab some food and a lot of study spaces too. Overall it has a very campus like feel and the club (Rubix) on campus makes nights out safe and convenient since it’s probably a 5 min walk back to your accom.
The staff are always really friendly and approachable but that is dependent on your course – I study Media and Communication which comes under the sociology department and so far the staff have been really friendly and helpful. The career resources are very helpful, there is a dedicated team and you can book an appointment with them anytime for anything from advice to job specific cover letter reviews and help with CVs and interviews.
However Guildford as a town isn’t really a student town, there are clubs, bars, restaurants and cafes in town but it is more of a residential area especially compared to the London atmosphere. If you aren’t living on Stag Hill campus you should definitely think about bringing a bike or a car if you have one. The buses aren’t the most reliable and can end up being quite expensive if you use them everyday. It is worth getting a bus pass however that is £56 for a 28 day pass which isn’t exactly affordable.
