The University of Surrey became my top choice as soon as I visited it. My first impression of the university was its inclusivity and friendly nature, and now in my third year I can confirm this is exactly how Surrey feels. Surrey has two very green spacious campus’s that are a 10 minute walk from each other. One of my favourite parts of the university was within one week of joining the Vet School I was partnered with 2nd year and 3rd year vets. They were my vet family that supported me through the transition from 6th form to university life. A slight negative is the distance from university to the main town of Guildford. This affected the students that wanted a job to help support themselves, but in the last year the university have really expanded their student work force and offer plenty of jobs in a variety of areas. This is been a great contribution to the university that many of us are getting involved with!

Hello, everyone. I graduated from Surrey a few years ago. I studied veterinary medicine in Surrey and loved the course. Manor Park facilities are really good. I also went to a couple of universities before accepting Surrey and I can assure you there aren’t many universities that compare to Surrey.

I loved studying veterinary medicine in surrey. The facilities were super modern and the teachers very good. I liked the practical component of the course and the partnerships with several employers. All students end up with a lot of experience which makes it a lot easier for them when looking for a job

Good course with a strong practical content. Every semester we do an internship so when we graduate we have a lot more experience than the other students. This helps a lot in terms of employability. At the same time it is noted that we get to know much more

I love my course, it is everything plus more that I expected. Everyone I have met at the university are lovely and I have made great friends! I was so glad the uni offer the option to play touch rugby, and love the inclusiveness of the sport. Other sports give you options to either play competitively or socially which is great if you don’t have a lot of time to commit. The sports facilities are great and modern, and I love the gym. My first year accommodation was great, modern and clean. I would recommend the uni of surrey as you’re guaranteed to find people who you will get on with, the facilities are great and there’s a friendly vibe throughout the campus.

The university of surrey has really great facilities (library and study areas, sports fields, gym). Guildford is fairly walkable, but the public transport is not where it should be for a university so big. Guildford is a really gorgeous place to live, which I have grown to appreciate more and more whilst living here.

However, it’s a very expensive place to live, with few reasonably priced bars/restaurants appealing to students. It’s also got probably the worst nightlife ever… however, the union is really great and hopefully it will start to pick up a bit more!

The uni is consistently pushing to improve the student experience and it’s so easy to get involved and have your voice heard. The facilities are modern and practical, giving a refreshing educational environment and all staff are willing to go out of their way to support students.

Campus environment is welcoming and has a community spirit, and there are facilities to engage a huge variety of academic and extracurricular commitments.

The area is expensive but there are appropriate resources to help students out ranging from financial advice to support.

Surrey university is a diverse and friendly university set in a beautiful campus only a few miles from the Surrey hills.

As a current student of the Veterinary Medicine School, I have been pleased with the course so far. Being located on the sports park campus, the veterinary medicine buildings are in a lovely setting in addition to it being easy to play sport alongside studying. The buildings are pleasant, modern and easy to navigate around.

There are a considerable amount of contact hours compared to alternative courses with a wide variety of lectures, practicals, independent learning and labs which change on a weekly basis. Class sizes are adequate, never too big and allow all students to get the most out of the learning experiences offered.

Due to the high-class sporting facilities, there are endless clubs/sports and societies to get involved in.
