The University of Oxford is an amazing place! Besides world class lecturer’s and cutting edge research, you are exposed to the culture of excellence, historical beauty, inspiring legacy and interesting classmates. I enjoyed going to interesting talks and meeting people.

The Pharmacology MSc thought course was research focused, as such we learnt cutting-edge techniques and used mostly literature to study (instead of text books). The advantage of Masters courses in Oxford is that you don’t need in-depth knowledge in the field, the first couple of months starts with getting an animal licence and learning the basics. You’ll get a professor mentor, who will only focus on you, and helps you get the best out of you. It’s all about learning by doing. It had a huge emphasis on neuropharmacology, which was exactly what I was looking for (I’m a neuroscientist). Also, it’s not about learning names, but to understand scientific concepts and to think critically. As I said, it focuses on research, so if you want to learn about the pharmaceutical industry, this might not be the perfect choice.

It is intellectually very stimulating (not only scientifically) because you are surrounded by great minds from all over the world. I can highly recommend it for anyone who wants to understand pharmacology and wants to experience what it means to be part of the Oxford experience.
