Field trips weren’t theoretical — you’d be standing on an actual storm surge barrier or walking through a floodplain redevelopment project the same week you studied it in class.
The program’s strength is its mix of disciplines. You’re not just doing hydraulics—you’re pulled into spatial planning, governance, and stakeholder management, often through real projects with companies and municipalities. Group work with classmates from wildly different backgrounds (engineering, geography, and urban planning) forced you to communicate technical ideas to non-technical people, which turned out to be one of the most useful skills I picked up.
