Since 2012 I have been studying Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Science. When I started the study, it was as I expected it to be. Courses on drug development and getting to know the pharmaceutical sciences world. The dynamics of the courses were noticeable with every course because stories of older students were not comparable with my perception of the courses. This gave me the comfort that the study coordination is always thinking about how to improve the study.
Since 2016 the faculty has moved to a brand new Bèta campus with high-end facilities, which make it possible to actually be there, where the research is being done. A great addition to the Master programme is the flexibility and the openness towards student mobility. First, you’ll have to get familiar with the research by doing a 9-month internship within the Leiden University and gain your basic and independent research skills. After, you are able to go to any university or organisation for a second internship. This allows you to develop yourself on multiple levels and prepare you for the pharmaceutical world.
For everyone who is interested in drug development and sees a future in the pharmaceutical world, this is a study that I would recommend.
In the way, a lot of improvements have been implemented.
