I studied Business Administration in UPF in Barcelona.
The way the career is designed allows the student to gain broad knowledge about all kind of topics that relate to business in general, but there is no option to gain lots of knowledge in one topic in particular. For the starting 3 years all classes are mandatory, which makes it hard to define one’s path in Business if they already chose what they want to pursue their career in (banking, human resources, etc.)
Teachers are quite good, even though sometimes they lack of teaching skills. I think the biggest mistake of UPF is to have teachers with 10 master’s degrees and and 15 careers but no teaching skills at all. The best teachers I had during the career where often the ones with less “academic awards”.
Besides that, there are a lot of resources available to students and the quality of the subjects is above average when compared to other universities in Barcelona that offer the same bachelor degree.
The best part of UPF is that they offer a lot of internships, that allow the student to learn different things and to have a first experience in the real world. Thus, combined with the fact that you are getting a degree in UPF, allows most of the students to have a quite good job once they graduate.
