The University is located outside the city centre, in Bellaterra, about 40 min by train from placa de Catalunya. It’s location is perfect if you are looking for a cheap accommodation, because around the university there are several villages/towns where you can find cheaper flats to share and rooms. I live in Cerdanyola del Valles for example, and going to the university takes me very little time, about 15 min by bus or by train.__ Furthermore the university zone together with some other small towns in the surroundings, has recently been included in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, so I suggest future students to check before taking a room there. ُُThe benefit is that, either if you live in the centre and take the train to go to class or you live nearby the university (in one too the town included in the zone 1) and need to go to the centre or to the faculty you just need a 1zone ticket in any of these cases. for people who are younger than 25 there is also the opportunity to buy a cheaper three-month ticket which is called “tjoven”.__The campus has a lot of facilities, the best thing is the free bus service in the campus, but for the rest, is not cheap at all. __I am currently attending a master in Contemporary Arabic studies. The idea itself is very good, but since it is pretty new (started in 2017) it is not well organised yet, although the coordinator is always open to feedback and suggestions. __The professors are mostly highly qualificated and competent, and Arabic is their mother tongue. The classes are really 100% in Arabic, except for some translations needed. __No scholarships are provided, nor any kind of economical help, and there are no work stages in the program.
