My experience with the Modern Language I: English B2.1 course at the UOC has been very negative. The main problem hasn’t been the difficulty of the language, but rather the lack of real, structured instruction, the scarcity of individualized feedback, and the feeling that the assessment criteria were unclear and inconsistent. I also find it inappropriate that assignments not submitted due to withdrawal or non-submission appear as D/0.0, when they should be marked as “Not Submitted.” All of this has caused me excessive stress, frustration, and a clear sense of morale, despite the effort I’ve put in since day one. The UOC should thoroughly review this course, its methodology, and its assessment system.
