I like the almost everything about the university. From the people to the university itself. I had an amazing experience with the students supports programs as a new student there. They helped me and showed me around the school. The professors where nice to everyone and really cared about everyones education. Overall it has been an amazing year with them.

The University of Pretoria is a powerhouse for mechanical engineering, consistently ranking among the best universities in Africa. Its diverse and inclusive environment, especially for international students, makes it an incredibly welcoming place to study.

While the vibrant South African lifestyle can be tempting, succeeding here requires discipline. You’ll need to resist the allure of the “groove life” and commit to putting in the hard work—attaching your “bottom to the chair and locking in” is essential. The demanding coursework is worth it, though, as it prepares you for a successful career in the field.

I’m currently enrolling at the University of Pretoria from 2023 until now, and I must say it’s an incredible journey. Here’s my honest review:

Academics:
The academic programs at the University are top-notch. The faculty is knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate about their subjects. I was part of the Engineering Faculty , and I found the curriculum to be well-structured and industry-relevant.

Campus Life:
The campus is modern, clean, and well-maintained. There are plenty of amenities, including a state-of-the-art library, sports facilities, and a student union. I was impressed by the diversity of student clubs and organizations, which cater to various interests and hobbies.

Support Services:
The university offers excellent support services, including academic advising, mental health counseling, and career guidance. I found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and responsive to student needs.

Career Opportunities:
The University has a strong industry connections, which opens up many career opportunities for graduates. I still haven’t graduated so I cannot say much.

Overall Experience:
My time at the University is truly transformative. I made lifelong friends, developed valuable skills, and gained a world-class education. While no institution is perfect, I believe the University of Pretoria offers an exceptional learning experience that prepares students for success.

Recommendation:
I highly recommend the University of Pretoria to anyone seeking a top-quality education. Be prepared to work hard, engage with your peers, and take advantage of the many opportunities available.

It’s a great place to study engineering, with high-quality lecturers and admin staff. Great place, racially diverse and my degree is of a high calibre. Lecturers were well knowledgeable in their subject matter, and very passionate about sharing their knowledge.

I had both good and vad experience at University of Pretoria. Good thing is that they offer quality standards of education as it is ranked amongst the top in south africa. Bad thing is that it is expensive and has little support coming from the lecturers

The institution offers quality education and classes with a sufficient amount of student support. However, at certain times the lecturers are inconsiderate of the students and their available time to study and comprehend the material with the work overload
