My opinion about this university is that it’s outstandingly the elite among its competitors. It dominates largely and effortlessly in Africa.
What I like about the university it’s the alumni they produce from its solid calyst of the staff and values of the institution. I did dislike the fact that “Fees Must Fall” protest affected students badly.
I will gladly and proudly recommend it.

Res Life was amazing — there was real camaraderie, a strong comrade spirit where we shared struggles and supported one another. That sense of community made a huge difference. The support structures were solid, the tutors were amazing and genuinely invested in helping us succeed, and the bus system was frequent and reliable, which made campus life much easier.
That said, there were definitely some dislikes. The academic workload could be overwhelming at times, and the pressure was intense, especially during peak assessment periods. Administrative processes were sometimes slow and frustrating, which added unnecessary stress. The fast-paced environment also meant burnout was real if you didn’t manage your time well.
Despite these challenges, my overall experience was wonderful and meaningful. Wits pushes you hard, but it also supports you, and I would definitely recommend it to students who are ready for a demanding but rewarding university experience.
