What is a Management degree?

A Management degree builds a strong foundation in a wide variety of fields including business, finance, economics and marketing. It develops students’ understanding of business practices, structures, business theory, business strategy and research as well as global economies and financial markets. Doing a Management Degree also allows students to gain skills that enable them to work with financial and numerical data effectively.

Management degrees cover different managerial roles, such as Human Resource (HR) management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. They can be specialized into one of the areas mentioned above or follow a more general approach that covers most of these areas.

The range of management degrees is huge and includes Business Management, Management, Marketing Management, etc. They are predominantly offered in the business departments/business schools/management schools of different universities.

Benefits of a Management degree

One of the main benefits of this degree is that Management is a broad discipline, which keeps students’ career options open.

Management degrees could have a very practical focus, which is an opportunity for students to gain experience in the process of completing their degree before having started their professional careers. Management courses usually offer work placements and practical modules, which include business simulations and business creation in a simulated environment. Acquiring practical experience through these opportunities could make students stand out from the crowd in the job market once they graduate. Research-oriented Management degrees also exist for those who prefer the theoretical aspects of such a degree. Most courses, however, have established a good balance between theory and practice in order to meet the needs of all students.

Management degrees also prepare students to serve the managerial role across a wide range of areas, including HR management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. Students can specialize in one particular area or focus on gaining knowledge across all of these areas thanks to the high availability of different management courses.

Additionally, there is a high demand for management professionals in the contemporary business world. Therefore, taking a management course is an opportunity for students to kick-start their careers and occupy a higher position in the organizational hierarchy.

management degree Structure

Management courses usually begin by introducing students to different areas covered by the managerial role, such as organizational management, business environment, statistics, accounting and finance, business growth, etc. After the first year, institutions allow students to explore the management discipline into more depth by delivering specialized modules and offering optional modules, which enable students to choose subjects that interest them the most and are most relevant to their career aspirations.

Hard and stressful, but you get proper knowledge at the end

The location is in the centre but in a dangerous area. I find my faculty old fashioned, we learn a lot of facts that have changed over the years. It is pretty hard, but in the end, you have decent knowledge about economics. It is still not very international, but I think this will change over the next years, since we already have some international projects/summer schools, etc…

    Organization, good connectivity and economy

I am studying at the College of Design, Technology and Management. Management direction. There are a solid number of us in one year, about 100 students in my direction alone.
The professors are completely correct, everything is based on practice and seminar papers and presentations.
We have an average of 10 subjects per year. In general, it is not a very difficult direction, but you need to work constantly. The location is in the very center of the city so everything is close, several student dormitories are in a narrow circle, there is no canteen at the college.
The opportunities afterwards are good, as we are in a city where the opportunities for anything are increased.
The year is around 500e when you are not on a budget.

My opinion about studying in Belgrade

The University of Belgrade is public, ie. The State University which is in quality far ahead of all these private universities and is one of the best in this part of Europe. The University has over 30 faculties in the field of social and humanistic, pmf, technical and other sciences. I am studying Arabic at the Faculty of Philosophy. Filoloski fax has 16 departments and is great for studying, its building is located in a super urban location in the center and the social life during the studies is very rich. The curriculum and the program specifically on my college are ok and I really like it, they are not boring with what I would like to have the subject less so that it can focus more and more without losing focus.

In Orientalism, if you choose to enroll, you have a Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese direction to define.
The classrooms are quite ok. There is enough space. The professors are correct and use modern teaching techniques, although the older generations of professors are casualizing over time, making them less willing to open contacts with students than when they are younger professors.
She studied the Bologna system. The prices of studies are, in my opinion, high in line with the standards in Serbia. The year of the study costs about 1000 euros, and even if you are not from Belgrade but from another city when you pay the other expenses then it comes a fairly big fight for a student.
Student canteen is perhaps the best thing to distinguish in this context because it is really nice and decent to eat for very cheap coupons.
The conditions in the student dormitory are ok and satisfying as far as I know from my experience nothing too good or too bad, so satisfactory.
If you are a foreigner, studying in Belgrade will be an incredibly good experience for you. I would generally give the University a grade of 4.
