At the end of my first year at The University of Abuja, I realised that my choices led to my unique experiences.
Unlike other students with hostel allocation issues, I spoke to hostel admins months before I resumed classes. Instead of standing for long hours during classes due to lack of sufficient seats, I came an hour early for every class I had. I had the luxury of choosing my ideal seat which enabled me to grasp the Lecturers concepts more clearly and give me understanding and motivation to do further studies on they’re respective topics.
In the end, this reflected in my 5.0 GPA which many students could not achieve…some had miscalculated results due to late submission time…but I never submitted anything a day before, I always chose to give myself ample time for submission.
In all, I had a good bed, good grades, a good and serious circle of friends and a good first year. I hope this continues.
