StudentIEA great optionUCC has genuinely felt like the right place for me to study. When I first moved down to Cork at 18, I didn’t really know what to expect, but the campus and the people made it feel welcoming quite quickly. It’s small enough that you recognise faces and don’t feel lost, but big enough that there’s always something going on.
I’ve had lecturers who clearly know their stuff but are also approachable, which makes a big difference when you’re stuck or stressed. Some of my favourite parts of UCC have actually been outside the lectures, working on group projects with people from different countries, playing sports with the university and just having that student routine around the place.
Living away from home, UCC has been where I’ve learned to balance everything: classes, assignments, work, social life. It’s not been perfect all the time, but overall it’s somewhere I’d recommend because it’s helped me grow academically and personally, not just tick boxes for a degree.
