Can you let us know about you?
I am Paula Santana, I come from Spain and I am 19 years old. I started my university studies at t CBS International Business School, Campus Cologne, in August 2022, in the BA International Business with specialization program, in which in my case I chose Marketing Management. I always wanted to give an international focus to my studies and CBS offers an incredible international environment with which I have had personal and academic growth. I have always been interested in Economics, Business and more specifically in Marketing since my early beginning of studies and this Bachelor has a good overview of business and also a great opportunity to specialize in business fields.
Why did you Choose CBS for your studies?
Many factors have influenced my decision to attend CBS, the main ones were the good reputation of the university, the offer of studying in English which makes an impact on the bachelor’s degree certification, the opportunity of having a specialization and being able to do a semester abroad in the country of choice to gain even more multicultural knowledge. I would highly recommend CBS to students who want to get a Bachelor’s degree in a multicultural environment and practical knowledge.
What do you plan to do after your studies?
After finishing my studies at CBS I would like to find a job related to the marketing field to be able to put into practice all my knowledge and enthusiasm in working and having an international environment or be able to work in a company that wants to get an international view.
How has CBS supported you so far?
My time at CBS influenced a lot in my career aspirations and post-graduation plans since I was able to see all the opportunities, fields, topics, and departments that I am able to reach having a Bachelor’s degree. CBS has supported my academic and professional development since they offer the students many ways to find internships, many meetings which give a lot of knowledge in the field, etc. I found many programs of CBS useful mainly once I entered my specialization, being able to focus my studies in the field that I love, which is marketing management.

I’ve had a good experience so far while I’ve been studying at CBS. However, the majority of students are of German nationality, while there are also students from other nations. If you’re feeling under the weather or don’t feel like going to school, they provide a blended learning option that allows you to stay at home and participate in the class simultaneously online. The campus in Cologne is not particularly cutting-edge, but I’ve heard that the campus in Mainz is more or less cutting-edge and attractive. The instructors and departmental officials are all cordial. The School encourages pupils to participate in a variety of sports because it values a healthy balance between work and recreation. As a result of CBS’s partnerships with various significant businesses, the School is able to maintain its curricula current with the needs of the modern business world. Additionally, partnerships allow CBS to give its students greater options for internships and professional experience. By participating in business projects in collaboration with well-known companies, students can also gain important information and skills.
There are very little opportunities to study environment related degrees in Europe and have a corporate network alongside. CBS gave me the option to stay in touch with the market but also study a degree to create value for them, from sustainability point of you. For me the highlight of being able to study with people from around the globe, each coming from a different take on the problem at hand. The downside was administrative lags. Several times, we had to wait long hours to get our usual logistic approval or information.
This school is a real building place for young minds and upcoming business minds, they not only offer classroom teachings but also practice simulations for the mind and senses to acquaint to and I am really happy for the opportunity study here.
