Possibility of obtaining Student scientific assistant positions makes it possible to work on tasks assigned by PhD students, making it possible to work on current topics and earning a monthly assistantship. Students with good performance have the opportunity to pursue their PhD after the completion of the degree. Rostock also provides other possibilities for student jobs in various establishments.
The Mensa (Canteen) is very good with large selection of vegan and vegetarian options.
I studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Rostock and also completed my PhD there. The small class sizes and hands-on assignments create an excellent learning environment. The student-to-supervisor ratio is outstanding: professors and lecturers are very approachable and highly supportive. Research quality is excellent, with strong industry connections. There are collaborative research projects with companies such as Infineon, Siemens, Nordex, and Vestas. The salary for PhD candidates is also very competitive.
