Tampere University of Technology is located in Hervanta, about 7 kilometers from the city center of Tampere. Hervanta is a great place for a student since it’s a cheap area to live in and everything necessary is found nearby. TUT has quite a modern campus since the university is still pretty young. All the buildings on the campus are found within 100 meters and they are connected with tubes so you are able to access all the buildings easily. Best feature in TUT is the student community and all the events and activities guilds and clubs provide during the year. There is also great facilities for doing sports and of course they are affordable for students.

At TUT we have a great community and the student life is excellent: we have nice and cheap student housing beside the campus, and inside the campus there’s a gym and other sports facilities, student restaurants, library, labs, club/guild rooms, doctor etc., almost everything you need and the campus is open 24/7. Someone has thought almost about everything how to make students’ life great at TUT. And besides the great student life, also teaching is very good.

Guilds and clubs offer good change to meet people and support you with pretty much any hobby you have. Good facilities with 24/7 access. Education is good Nordic basic level and students are given a lot of responsibility.

Located in Hervanta, suburban with 22 000 inhabitants, good housing possibilities and everything for everyday life.

One of the places where you’re not abided by the rules to learn. A place where you have plenty of resources to shape your dreams. And last as they say and I am quoting “Let science be your playground”.

Tampere University of Technology (TUT) is the right place to grow personally and scientifically. Some students always think that just the ranking of a university is important and it must be below 100. I would say it is true, but we should not forget the social environment of the university. Staffs and professors are respectful, honest and polite. In one word perfect. Experiencing the sense of equality is the first impression here. I believe that TUT is a perfect place for masters students and it is a good place for Ph.D. Me myself, I am happy of studying here as masters student experiencing one of the most fair places around the world. I say everyone should see this system once in his/her life. For Ph.D, to be honest, I may go somewhere else with better ranking. In this way, both personal and scientific growth will be done.
In a nutshell, I highly recommend TUT to international students.

I went to TUT for an exchange and it was one of the best places you could imagine for it. The ESN section is very well organized so you, as a student from abroad, are able to integrate quickly and feel comfy at the university. The facilities are very modern and are open 24/7 for students. A student can spend the whole day at the university easily without being forced to not least because of the vivid student culture. There are events for students almost every day due to the very active student guilds and clubs of the university. A little downer is the location since it is a bit remote from the city´s center.

TUT is one of the few universities where everything is actually working. The facilities are open 24/7 for the students, guilds and clubs provide technology student culture events, all the studies and laboratories are relative, staff is friendly, and there are plenty of places to eat with no lines. It’s a perfect place to spend your student life. It’s not a problem if you’re not a Finn since everything necessary can be handled in English as well. English language is well understood here and people dare to answer in English. Many clubs are international (EESTEC, BEST, ESN INTO, AIESEC, ESTIEM…) Only problem is that location is quite remote from the city center. That is fixed by having everything necessary in 1km radius (accommondations from student housing company and stores). Besides that you can just jump in a bus every 5 minutes to get to the city center for 1,33€ price
