The campus at UVIC has a calm and friendly ambience. The outdoor campus is a very loved place for socialising in summers be it in the quad or the spots under the green.The security at UVIC is a great addition. The response time of the team is commendable. They have even organized a ‘Campus safe walk’ alternative for students if they do not wish to walk alone after class hours. The Mod, the dining facility though is not one of the best additions of the University. The quality/quantity of the food since last year has dropped drastically. Many students find it difficult to keep up with their diet, given that If you are vegan/vegetarian/glutton free then your options are significantly compromised. On the hand, the bakery is quite fabulous.

The instructors for the most part are very engaging and interested in their students and in their furthering of skills. The students themselves in my program, for the most part, are very supportive and friendly to other students. I would say that in my particular program. I feel well supported and invested in my future.

I found most of my professors very personable in both my majors. The UVic music school has a great sense of community that I am going to miss. The Germanic studies program is progressive and gave me plenty of opportunities to do Interdisciplinary work with music, history and culture.

My program at UVic has great morale among the students. I enjoy my classes and learn a vast amount of information relevant and useful to my field of study. But, I have had issues with professors over accommodations for my disability. Although UVic has the CAL building, it is treated as optional by many members of the faculty.
