My advanced education includes a Masters degree in Information Systems Security from Concordia University. I found this experience to be very rewarding. The program provided me with tools to apply and knowledge in the fields of cybersecurity, risk management, network security, and information systems. The vast majority of the classes that I took during this program were very practical nature and relevant to current security challenges.
All professors were very knowledgeable, supportive and helpful. Some courses did a great job of challenging you to think critically and investigate issues thoroughly. Team work was also a huge component of the programs, which was really good at making you think of connections that you wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. The courses were very time consuming and sometimes time sensitive, especially on projects and exams, but it really helped me improve my time management, project planning, and technical skills with various software applications. The environment at Concordia is quite diverse with a large number of international students. It was very easy for me to meet a large variety of students and friends.
Concordia University is a great place to consider for students interested in Information Systems Security and the general field of cybersecurity. It provides a good foundation for further academic and professional development in this area.
