What is the GMAT

The GMAT is a computer test that assesses important business skills that are also highly valued by employers. The GMAT assesses your skills through four back-to-back evaluations over the course of three hours:

  • Analytical writing assessment
  • Integrated reasoning
  • Quantitative reasoning
  • Verbal reasoning

Through English grammar, algebra, geometry and arithmetic questions, it evaluates your ability to analyse, evaluate and synthesise pieces of information. Each test is scored separately, but the grading scale most often used is one between 200 and 800, where most students score between 400 and 600.
