Professor and teaching style

Although I earned my bachelor degree at the University of York in UK, it was quite theoretical. I really started to bridge the learning gap between theory and practice only when I started to pursue my master degree in Business Analytics and Data Science at EU Business School in Barcelona. What stands out most in my current program is the university’s strong emphasis on practical experience. Our professors are not only scholars but also are successful business managers and data experts, as they are either the owners of successful organizations or individuals who took on top management roles in large corporations. Their teachings are more than just the syllabus in, they also provide personal experience in the area of niche markets, provide best practices in an industry, and always provoke our thinking with regard to the existing trends in higher education, business strategy, and innovation.

Great University in an Awesome City

I studied for 4 months in MBS (I did my Erasmus there) and I have nothing but good and kind words for this place. Their methodology is much different than what I was used to in Barcelona: all the classes were practical, with little or none theory explained and everything explained through real-case scenarios or simulations. The fact that the teachers were, most of the times, business men and women that where working part-time as teachers, allowed students to learn current hot topics that were trending on some kinds of industry. Some of the subjects have no exams and instead they have a final project (for example, International Business Project of HR Management) that has to be done in groups, allowing yourself to develop teambuilding and teamworking skills. Also, the fact that classes are quite small allow for a better teacher-student communication. Other than that, the Erasmus Programme of this university is quite recognized worldwide, making students not just from Europe, but from the world, to go to study in MBS. The variety of cultures and people that you meet allow for a more, better open-minded way of thinking. Something I would recommend: International Business Project class and HR Management. Also, German can be learned in different levels according to your skills. Something that I did not like that much: the wifi was quite slow and it was hard to connect to sometimes. Hope they have improved it!

Well structured course

Basically, it’s a private university with a good reputation and also the lecturers are well educated and helpful. The course contains 60% of management-related modules and the remaining technical modules. For anyone who is searching for a techno-management course, I would suggest Hochschule Fresenius.
