Attending James Madison University was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The College of Education is one of the most highly rated in the United States, and this rating has definitely shown in my experiences. Throughout my time at JMU, I was given so many opportunities to better myself. There are endless amounts of people who genuinely want to help you succeed during college, and post-graduation. There is a building called the Student Success Center, which has free resume building classes, holds job interviews, gives free headshots, and so many other things to help prepare students for landing their first job. Each student receives an advisor that is specific to their major/college. My experience with my advisor was nothing short of superb. She was always attentive, sending out updates to the program, helping with classes, and genuinely looking out for those she was supervising. In terms of classes, the sizes were smaller than my high school, with about 18 people in the smaller general education classes. I have never had a bad experience with any professor at JMU- they are all extremely reputable, and hold each student to high standards in order to help them achieve success. Not only are the people at JMU amazing, but the campus is gorgeous as well. Overall, I would say my experience at JMU is one that has shaped my life for the better, and has shaped me into the person I truly want to be.
