TAMUCC has a really cool and relaxing campus with a strong sense of community. Because it’s a smaller school, it’s easy to get to know people you’ll often see familiar faces every day, which helps make the campus feel tight-knit and welcoming. A benefit of the smaller size is that you can build real connections with classmates and faculty. That said, it also means there can be fewer options when it comes to class times or professors. Sometimes you might end up with a schedule or instructor that isn’t your first choice and sometimes it is your only choice especially with degree specific classes. In my experience as a mechanical engineering major with only a couple semesters left i have taken a lot of classes with many different professors. The professors are very knowledgeable, though not all are natural teachers. Still, every one of them has been willing to help if you put in the effort. If you show that you care about your learning, they will do what they can to support you. In my opinion TAMUCC is a great place if you’re looking for a peaceful atmosphere and strong community vibe, and of course the best weather in Texas.
