University of York Speciality : Management
programme: Business and Management

The university has a vast amount of opportunities and societies which I personally love as it accommodates all abilities from university sport to college sports. It has a good balance for student life as someone that likes to go out but also stay in and do other things and my Constantine college timetable really accommodated this from club nights to movie nights in helping me meet different people. Furthermore, my accomodation is really nice and campus safety and other support have helped iron out issues quickly as I had issues with my plugs and it was resolved within an hour. I really like my college netball team and it has helped me meet new people and become more integrated in the York community. For my course there is a lot of support here if you are struggling. I have an academic supervisor and all my lectures have provided time that I can meet or speak to them. And my accounting lecturer is really supportive with all my questions which may seem silly but have helped me clarify difficult concepts. As a first year student it can be daunting but the support and opportunities through handshake and the university have helped me feel at home and progress with my academic studies. The only thing that could be improved is the online reading tutorials as they lack structure which is something I feel like I value to learn. However I understand as it is online it can be difficult to do this and this is only once a week for my course so it isn’t a major issue. Overall, I like University of York as all the support sessions and support from academics has helped me navigate a whole new learning environment.

The education offered by the University of York is dynamic and demanding. In fact, York surpasses all of my expectations for a school, making it the best choice I could have made. Almost every day offers something new to discover! There are also a lot of amiable people! Because of the diversity of the university, the lecturers are very concerned about making sure students get the most out of their education. In this instance, earning a degree from this fantastic university is my ultimate objective. Building relationships with their students and helping them navigate their academic careers are the lecturers’ goals. Learning as much as I can and gaining experience in my field are my objectives.

I have completed my first year in the University of York. It has been a great experience overall. The campus is beautiful and the courses are well structured. The university provides support throughout the year and there are a lot of opportunities provided for students even outside their course. However, the cost of living in York is high and it is also a small city.

York university has 2 great campuses, east campus feels aa little bit more empty but west campus is full of things to see and do. The management building is new this year and is a perfect space to study and focus.

It has a beautiful campus and the town is very lovely too. The university is split into two campuses and the commute between them is a 15-minute walk. The east campus has a homely feeling to it and is very close to the campus gym. The west campus hosts most of the student events and also right next to the university library. Would definetely recommend for both undergrad and postgrad degree.
