I really enjoyed my time at university. I studied International Business with Mandarin Chinese and got to experience studying abroad as part of my degree. The university provided several different opportunities for personal and professional growth: a multitude of sports teams, societies with frequent events, Active Students, job fests, study abroad and work placements, plus much more, such as coaching, and graduate support.
I liked the course I studied. It was interesting and gave me with a solid, all-round business knowledge base. I liked the variety of societies offered. I liked the Active Students free exercise classes and sessions. I liked the student union.
I disliked that the two campuses of the university were so far from each other. I personally did not have any lectures on the other campus, but some of my friends did and it was quite inconvenient to have to walk 25 minutes to get to lectures.
I would definitely recommend the University of Hertfordshire! Looking back, the personal growth I experienced during my time at university surprises me, but it really did shape who I am today and gave me a lot of opportunities to improve myself as someone from a low-income background.
