University of Sheffield is one of the leading uni’s in the UK, especially on the Engineering Dept where I did my PhD. It offers a wide range of research topics, with very good access to information, libraries, with very good supervision and excellent sources of academic enrichment. Sheffield itself is a nice place in North of England, close to Peak District.

However, professors are supportive in wanting you to succeed but sometimes can feel dismissive when you email them.
Usually, a teaching plan is given at the start of each module to structure learning, expected to do most of the learning in your own time.
Sometimes questions are posted with no solutions but are generally available upon request
Labs are very engaging and very informative, learning and understanding of the concepts and methods are very well tested.
Students Union is very supportive and friendly. Lots of things to do and opportunities to avail. Social and nightlife are great, there is lots to do. The course is interesting and well structured, learning from all the engineering faculties at the university.
