A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
I believe the University Of Salford provides students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in their chosen fields.
I like how short, interactive, and detailed the modules are designed. It provides clear insight and understanding to guide one in their career choice.
I dislike the idea of having more than 2 tutors taking a module because it sometimes brings about misunderstanding.
I would absolutely recommend!
View moreUniversity Of Salford offers the course of MA Public Relations and Digital Communications. This course provide opportunities to meet with professional PR officers during workshops. Teachers focused more on practical skills rather than the theory. I just love the way of teaching and also the university campus offers opportunities for different types of internships during the entire course.
View morePicking a school for my post graduate degree was kind of hard and Salford wasn’t even on my list but I’m super glad I came to Salford.
The support and help I got as an international student when I came starting from the induction week to the start of lectures to interacting with my lecturers has been nothing but amazing.
Looking forward to the rest of my year as a postgraduate student and enjoying everything the school has to offer.

View moreI am in my second year, based on the peel park campus. The library is open 24 hours which is perfect for night owls and deadlines, you can also book private study rooms and group study spaces. There is so many creative facilities including photography studios, iMacs, Graphics Tablets, 3D Printers, Laser Printers etc. You can also rent items out (eg. cameras) for free instead of buying them.
There is a cafe in most buildings, most of which sell Costa Coffee items.
There is a student store, but some items can be a tad pricey, but theres lots of shops nearby.
The bar on campus is cheap and the food is lovely.
Even though Salford University is a quite a new institution in Manchester, it is well organised in terms of support, materials and technology. Although the first two easy everything was mostly centred online and less face to face due to the virus, that has impacted my social life in campus but not my studies and it was easy to reach other students and compete the assignment with the right support.
