Access to a great education and very in-depth courses. Social life is a bit rubbish as a lot of students commute in and out from home – lack of campus. Well known by companies and respected by most employers. Large alumni community
View moreMany students in the freshman class reported that the teacher’s lectures would be a little dull, but because the course is relatively simple as a whole, and the knowledge points that should be taught have not been omitted, it will not affect the final review after careful review. If the freshman is an appetizer, so that students can Sophomore year is the real challenge if you want to enjoy life in London more. All of the statistics core courses in the sophomore year will really give students a sense of how to apply statistical knowledge to solve problems. In particular, STAT00O5 is controlled by the well-known “Lucifer” Yvo. Every time he teaches this course, he will re-issue the homework every week, never repeating the same. Almost everyone will peel off a layer of skin, but it is also more difficult for the junior The advanced courses of the college have a solid foundation. The scope of the third-year course selection is very wide, and all kinds of fancy concepts that have been heard are within easy reach. A very powerful senior once told me that “the most important reflection of the school’s teaching level is not the elementary class but the advanced class”, and I deeply agreed. Of course not every course has the same rewarding, but there are enough good courses. For example, in the class of time-series, I asked my seniors and friends who are doing Ph.D. in the United States, and their doctoral-level course only teaches this level of depth, and further down is the category that needs to be studied by yourself. There is a course to teach MCMC, Sam spent less than 20 hours in five weeks, took us from zero to understand the current cutting-edge algorithms and understand how to code; and Gianluca, who came back from MIT, can be said to have lured the Bayesian inference. ….
View moreI am currently pursuing a Master of Research in Urban Sustainability and Resilience at University College London. The program gives students the edge of pursuing Interdisciplinary research as most of the problems we encounter today cannot be confined to one domain. Students can choose modules from any department with permission from their supervisors. This helps in knowing the fundamentals of domains that are related to the program. The professors who are involved in teaching and coordinating are very friendly and always ready to help. Supervisors are also ready to help when students get stuck with any problem in their research. The programs help you to stream your research abilities and become a researcher at the end. I would suggest you opt for this program if you are interested in Interdisciplinary research in Urban Sustainability and Resilience. This is one of a kind course that I have seen so far.
Hope the review is useful for you all.
This university is one of the most top-rated in the UK.
In addition to the high level of education, UCL offers a very pleasant student environment. Indeed, numerous societies exist so that every student can join one that truly matches his taste. A health and care hub is also available for students that are feeling depressed, alone, lost or just have inquiries. This university got the prestige it deserves because of all the services it proposes (ex: there are prayer halls in the university).
Location is amazing as it is located in central London and has access to various metro/bus lanes.
The last point I want to talk about is the multiculturalism of UCL. Students are from everywhere, it is rewarding to get to know about different cultures and religions. This diversity is unique.
World renowned lecturers and facilities. Career guidance is amazing.
The maths department specifically has a great pastoral system that nurtures its students through their course.
Conveniently located in central London where life outside the university can be anything you want it to be. There’s always something for everyone in London.
Perfect balance between studies and student life. Student’s union has a incredible number and variety of societies to join, socialize in, and practice sports. The course in demanding and will require studying, but you will have time to do a lot of other things, or even get a part time job.
View moreUCL is an amazing place to undertake a bachelor’s degree. Many opportunities, meeting diverse people, the staff is available and eager to help. Infrastructures offered are one of a kind, the libraries, the location within London.
View moreIt’s a great university. Facilities are great, especially with the new Student Centre! Some professors are still more focused on their research than helping undergraduate students. However, location and student life are still amazing!
View moreUniversity College London is really located in central London, which provides great convenience for all students. Professors and tutors are friendly and always ready to help students once they have any concerns or questions about any aspect of uni life. Also, I really love the swimming pool in the Student Central building.
View moreUCL is soooo great. I didn’t realize how fancy it is until my first day join it. Don’t need to mention its internationality and good location in London. Students and professors are all very nice and friendly. Courses are difficult so it worthy studying hard towards your own target. Have met many friends here, also. LOVE IT SO MUCH.
