My specific degree is only available at DMU and a couple of other universities. This aided me in thinking highly of the uni because it reaches a target audience and successfully teaches specific subject areas.

De Montfort usually gets a bad rep because of the students behaviour however taking this out of the equation I would say it’s a great university to attend.

The lecturers in the law department have great achievements within the bar which definitely shows through their teaching.

Leicester is one of the top cities for student life and affordability that helps improve the ratings of the universities within the city for student satisfaction. The comfortable, luxury and stylish accommodation and the aesthetically pleasing campus is inviting to call it home for the next 3 years.

However, during the pandemic I would say the teaching decreased significantly with lecturers ignoring students for assistance and lack of feedback on coursework. In a time where support was needed more than ever, they failed to deliver even at their usual standard. Using YouTube to teach on a topic because lectures failed to cover something they set as an assignment was very absurd.

Overall De Montfort University is a good university and shouldn’t have all their accomplishments tarnished because of student behaviour when the pros outweigh the cons.

It’s a good university, they communicate well with students and always keep you up to date with what’s going on. They are understanding of circumstances and offer you support and guidance to make sure you don’t fall back on your studies. I enjoy my course.

I loved this uni! Loved the new campus and buildings! I made amazing friends at the unis social events during freshers week! Good lecturers who I felt confident to email and had so much support if I needed it! Loved the library too and how it operates.
