I chose IZTECH as I had been planning to write my thesis in English. Also, all academicians have at least 1 degree (MSc or PhD) abroad (USA, EU, etc), and all classes are taught in English as well. In addition, the neighbourhood is quite fantastic with the best air quality but the campus is situated in a remote area.
I took my Bachelor’s degree at Gazi University, and I would like to say that, from the bottom of my heart, I feel sorry that I did not find out about this university before. If you are a hardworking person, you would find good opportunities at this university. That is because of the technical facilities on the campus. You might find short-term internships, which pave the way for long-term jobs. Also, each term the chair of Mech. Eng. sends at least 3 project advertisements for graduate students to apply. That way you can be a part of a real scientific research project.
As for the disadvantages, as I said before, the campus is really far away from the city centre. However, you can take the bus, which lasts 90 minutes. Also, accommodation is a big problem here. You cannot find a decent house in a close environment. There is a big supply and demand gap in housing. Unless you find a room in the dormitory, you might suffer looking for an apartment.
