The classes here are seriously satisfying! The professors are knowledgeable and passionate, making the learning experience engaging and enjoyable. Plus, the resources available are top-notch. Whether it’s research materials, study spaces, or support services, Eindhoven University of Technology has got you covered. And let’s talk about the workload. Personally I would say it’s challenging but manageable. The university understands the importance of work-life balance and provides the necessary support to help students navigate their academic journey. So, you’ll have the right tools and guidance to succeed while still having time for fun. It’s a win-win situation!
View moreThe teaching techniques at Eindhoven University of Technology are exceptional. They have a unique approach to simplifying complex concepts, making them easy for students to understand. Not only are the professors experts in their fields, but they are also skilled communicators. They know how to keep students engaged and motivated throughout their studies. And the campus itself is amazing! It is constantly evolving and improving to provide the best learning environment. From top-notch facilities to innovative study spaces, the university prioritizes student success. It truly feels like a futuristic hub of knowledge and creativity. Eindhoven University of Technology is the perfect place for cutting-edge and inspiring education.
View moreComputer Science Engineering at TU/e has so far exceeded my expectations! Most courses are structured in a practical way combining lectures, instructions and tutor hours. Alongside the tutors that students are able to ask questions about specifics, there are student mentors from the years above who can provide further help. The program does not require any previous knowledge in programming, but I would strongly advise it (speaking from experience)!
Overall, in order to be on top of your deadlines, projects, homework and workload in general, start working on your assignments on time. Catching up later will be hard and stressful so avoid it if possible. There will always be someone who you can contact if struggling.
One of the greatest advantages of studying Computer Science and Engineering at TU/e is that Eindhoven itself has become known as ‘Brainport’, the very centre of high-tech industries in the Netherlands. This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to start working while still studying!
View moreGreat campus, but strict boring ridiculous rules, useless classes and overall a pain to deal with. I had a great time, landed a good job and made many friends but the class content itself was poor. And dealing with the administration was horrid.
View more Plenty of projects to give students practical experience and learn to work in groups (including multidisciplinary groups)
Very international, almost all courses are in English (I believe there are 2 degrees in Dutch)
Many opportunities to do internship/thesis with companies
Easy to get a job after the degree
– Housing shortage in Eindhoven
– Some professors are not great at English, but there has been a huge improvement in the last few years
The university facilities are fairly decent, most of the equipment seems good. However TU may be lacking in small areas like some major lecture rooms not having electric outlets for students, or some course not having any decent quality (graphics/visibility) video-lecture. TU has a great city in terms of educational facility however this city being mainly a researching and business city is arguably not the best for “student-life” as many ‘fun’ things are outside student budgets, even something as basic as housing students seems to be problematic for this city. Professors can be a hit/miss with truly exceptional people like Bart the Algorithms teacher winning best teacher multiple years in a row, on the other hand, things like “I will not upload the slides because its too much paperwork” have been said by teachers, which is appalling. Finally, I think this university has fantastic career prospects due to its existing connection to the industry, which makes the struggle with everything else worth it.
View moreThe TU/e is very much an education-oriented university as opposed to one that only cares about research. I chose this place mostly based on the way they approach the teaching of the subject matter. In that regard, technical universities are unique already. Eindhoven is by no means exclusively a student city, which means that there are many dimensions to student life. There are hundreds of very active student associations run by the students for the students, such as practically any thinkable sport, very active clubs for each programme, many cultural activity clubs and clubs for like-minded individuals and travelling. Here students meet daily, so student life really is a lifestyle. Adding to this, the Brabant’s gezellige culture shines through in the way people treat each other which means everyone around you at university and in the city is friendly and inclusive. You can live on campus, but most live somewhere within the city where everything is closeby due to Eindhoven’s relatively modest size. Eindhoven also has an airport to get anywhere in Europe, and a train hub with for instance trains to Utrecht every 10 minutes. You definitely won’t feel stuck in just one place.
View moreThis university is awesome, it has supportive staff and does a lot about equality. The possibilities are endless. The teachers like working with the students and there are a lot of student assistants.
