Welcoming & Competitive

Although the degree is quite challenging, the vibes & overall function of the university is perfect for what you can expect if you want to live in Barcelona. I love the fact that it is divided in trimesters, and not semesters like in other universities. You have both practical & Theoretical classes each week, which makes coming to class more interesting & engaging. The only thing kind of annoying is that class times differ, meaning that you dont have the same subject class in the same hours as last week.

Hey Nader! I’m curious to know about UPF’s attendance policy for undergrad students, and the work-life balance. Did you get time to hit the gym and stuff?

Hi Ishan! Of course, I go to the gym aswell. If you have morning classes its better if u go evening, classes can start at 8:30am-2:30pm. Evening classes can be from 2:30pm-8:30pm. But with time management it is easely possible! In general, the attendance policy does not matter, but some subjects require teamwork projects or mini tests in class, so be weary of that. For work-life balance, It is very welcoming and inciting to go out and party ( you know how Spain is xD) So if classes have a maximum of 6h (4 subjects) and 8h of sleep you have the other 10 hours to study, hit the gym and go out every day if you want to. Easy!

Is it too much to take 4 CS classes in a quarter. I’d be there as an exchange student. I also want to have time to travel inside Spain during the weekends so don’t want to be too overwhelmed with class work.
