Hi, I had a totally different background (I am an architect and photographer) I understand how it feels about code for the first time. I didn’t know if I would be able to understand or if I would really like this new field. Also, when I decided to sign up for the Bootcamp, I didn’t have enough time to finish the free course, I only did some lessons of JavaScript, but nothing else. On the other hand, English is not my native language, and for me, that was an extra challenge. To be honest, I was a little scared about everything…
Then, I read my options for payment, and I enrolled in Student Finance as my first option, and I had the impression that it was so great to be true! In this part, I have to say, that is totally true, in fact, during the process, they explained a few times the deal and made sure I understood all the details and what were my responsibilities and benefits. Everything clear as water.
This was a big influence in my decision to take the full-time Bootcamp, so I made my decision and signed for CodeOp in full-time modality (online).
Since the first day, I learned a lot of things, about code and about myself. This journey is super intense, full of knowledge, and rewarding at the same proportion.
Three months after finishing, I finally found a job with the support of my coach career, and of course, my agreement with StudentFinance is running exactly as we arranged. I don’t have to pay anything until I found a job that fits with the deal. It wasn’t easy, I had a lot of interviews, challenges, and bad days during this time. But I knew what my commitment was and never gave up. Right now I am getting experience in my new and first tech job as a Javascript developer and I feel proud and happy to work with a great unicorn. Nothing bad for a first job right?
I feel grateful to CodeOp because they believed in me and gave me the opportunity to access its program and prove what can I do.
I hope that my testimony helps you, and if you need more information or want to know more about anything, let me know!
