at Sol Plaatje University

Sol Plaatje University is a wonderful institution that prides itself in caring for its students. If any student comes across any form of hardship, the staff within the institution will try by all means possible to ensure that students are well taken care of. The facilities that are provided to the students are state of the art and I believe that students that have different learning styles are well accommodated for. However, as an Education student, I have noticed that Sol Plaatje University does not offer students a heads up on what to expect in the years to come. For example, as a first year student, you will not be aware of what you will be studying in third year, whether there will be certain changes on the modules or not or what type of Work Integrated Learning activities that you will have to do. This in turn can harbor feelings of anxiety as one would not fully know what is expected from them as they continue with their studies. Aside from that, the institution does offer a yearly or per semester module breakdown (depending on the length of your chosen module) which offers a sense of control over your studies in a medium-term basis so that you can prepare in advance for any event that is to come.
