Racism in lectures

The institution is overall good, the location is close to most amenities that students might need during their course periods. The only thing most people would find problematic is the usage of Afrikaans more than English in classes and sometimes other communication from lecturers and the racism taking place inside the institution. The area that the institution is at, is peaceful and mostly safe. The governing bodies, however, hardly takes care of students needs and rights like accommodation agents problems

The North-West university (NWU) has a zero-tolerance approach regarding racism or any act that might infringe upon the human rights of any person. The NWU has a Human Rights Committee where complaints can be lodged and then investigated https://services.nwu.ac.za/human-rights

Complaints can also be lodged with any of the student leadership structures which will ensure that the matter receives attention, and this includes matters related to our academic offerings. The NWU prides itself in providing and constantly creating an environment across our three campuses where all our students feel welcome and included.
