The Higher School of Economics is considered to be one of the best universities in my country, and it is well-deserved. This educational institution offers not only a high level of education but also an opportunity to build valuable connections. The teaching approach is based on the modern Western model, which makes it more comprehensible and accessible. The teaching staff is highly qualified. The most significant advantage is the people who surround you. It is always a pleasure to study among the best and the HSE community is an excellent example of a strong community. I highly recommend studying at this university as HSE is a quality hallmark.

It was difficult, but extremely interesting. Would I like to repeat this? Probably still not. But the amount of knowledge in all subjects is really impressive (and hooray, it was needed at work, all the torment is not in vain). I would also like to note the fact that due to the fact that the program was small, there was a feeling of a family (which was also facilitated by the study office). Moreover, thanks to the university, I got my first job. Thanks 🙂

An excellent university, where talented, competent, creative experts teach. High motivation of fellow students also contributes to the development of a large number of competencies needed in the modern world (data analysis, presentation skills, the ability to reach a compromise, achieving highly targeted results)

It seems to me that ICEF is the best education that can be obtained in Russia in the field of economics and finance, and I am ready to argue with the argument that this is exactly so. Most of my classmates worked while studying. Moreover, they began to build a career very early. When my friends from other universities did not even think about work, I already passed my second internship.

I would outline 3 things:

1) People. I met a huge number of wonderful, purposeful people who inspire me to work and develop. Students of some universities motivate you to hang out and have fun every day, but at ICEF everything is different. From the 2nd to 3rd-year people work in top companies, win in case championships, write cool scientific papers and have other achievements.

2) Hard study. I am grateful that it was hard for me to study. I believe that all these super-complex subjects that really had to be taught and passed, very cool pumped me.

3) Atmosphere. The two previous things create a wonderful atmosphere in which you want to develop, learn, work, win. In a word, I would call it an atmosphere of success. And it’s very cool!

I have graduated from ICEF faculty of HSE specializing in Banking & Finance. If I had to do it all over again I would most likely choose HSE again since it is simply the best university in Russia specializing on economics and finance. ICEF faculty of HSE offers the highest quality of education providing students with constant challenges and motivation for development. Four sessions of exams throughout the year allow students to continuously advance and confirm their knowledge as well as to learn to manage time and stress. Students can always get extra feedback and comments from lectors and seminarists during office hours regarding a variety of questions and problems. Course curator was very supportive to us during hard times of exams and diploma thesis. Most student at HSE are extremely self-motivated and have great ambitions for achievements in academic and professional spheres. However, there are things to improve. First disadvantage of ICEF faculty of HSE is too late specialization: until the 3rd year all students had the same courses and only on the 4th year real specialization on particular fields came in force. Secondly, during my programme the was no attention to programming skills and new coding technologies, which are so useful today in finance. Finally, I wish there were more studying spaces for students such as new seminar and lecture halls, but most importantly large library with more working spaces. Nevertheless, atmosphere of high motivation and never-ending challenge for students, who are ready to fully devote themselves to studying, is extremely beneficial for gaining excellent knowledge and outstanding career perspectives for students graduating from HSE.

ICEF faculty:__Level of education(academic) is the only perfect side.__Administration will help you only while they can earn something on you. __Some teachers are nice, some of them – worst teachers ever. only two categories, nothing in the middle. __Diploma papers defense – subjective, not logical at all.__several exams – unsolvable within given time. __I devoted to economics about twice more time than my average peer so I had senior background as compared to the other students because of the preparation to economics contests for high school students, which gave me a great start during my first and second year. The third year final exam on Microeconomics was outstandingly difficult and I did not pass it. The average score was about 8 out of 100 before adjustment, but my fault was still difficult to swallow. Overcoming it and studying in order to satisfy teacher’s high requirements was much complicated. I am very proud of the fact that I have managed to successfully deal with it and retake the exam with a third score among the whole course. This example shows, that these teachers do not carry about students. __
