My experience in the Erasmus Master’s program, with the University of Coimbra as my home university, was wonderful, from the attention and charisma of the professors at the Faculty of Psychology to the colleagues and students with whom I shared the classrooms.

As an alumni from this program, I consider that it is a cutting edge program in the area of work and organizational psychology. It assures that the students have access to a variety of courses that are state-of-the-art in each areas. But I consider that this is not the highest point in this master’s program yet.
The intercultural relationship it promotes is remarkable: students from all over the world are part of this program, that seeks to create a diverse and inclusive environment. However, I would say that the low point is the lack of insights from other areas related to psychology. It lacks a dialogue with human sciences, such as sociology, politics and economics – elements that are essential to understanding how the work evolves overtime, specially in these times of AI. By aiming at being a program that offers insights from other areas within the range of psychology and work, I think it could benefit from other perspectives on the human psyche at the activity of working, such as cultural studies in the sense of a critical theory.

My experience with my Master program at UC has been incredibly fulfilling. I believe it provides me the theoretical background I need to succeed as both practitioner and scientist in the field. It estimulates cross-cultural experiences and a good overview of the future job market for my area of study. However, there are still some administrative processes and burocracies that could be improved, since therere are sometimes trouble with communicating certain steps or lost documents in specific deadlines. Overall it has been a positive experience.

I had an enriching experience studying in Coimbra, first as part of the Bachelor’s cohort in Psychology (2020‑2023) and then through the Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Work, Organizational, and Personnel Psychology (2023‑2025). Regarding the latter, the courses were well-structured, with a strong emphasis on organizational and work psychology, and the professors were highly knowledgeable and supportive. I especially valued the opportunities for practical learning through research projects and collaborations with renowned scholars from around the world. Campus life and the city itself offered a welcoming and vibrant environment, with ample cultural experiences and opportunities to connect with students from across Europe. The program also provided unique international exposure, including a semester in Barcelona as part of the Erasmus program and a two-week intensive course at the University of Valencia. Overall, it offered both a strong academic foundation and a truly international perspective.
