I really enjoy studying in Coimbra. They say that only those who experience it truly understand the love for Coimbra, and I was indeed lucky enough to experience it. The academic environment is incredibly welcoming, with a spirit of mutual support among colleagues. As for the professors, like anywhere else, there are some better and some worse ones, but overall, my experience was good, even having more contact with them than I expected between a university student and professor.

I think there’s no university like Coimbra , a city that lives and breathes by the lifes of students. During the day you can feel the anxiety , the rush to get to classes , everything goes around university life, but the thing that for me separates Coimbra from the others is the experience of going out ate night. Might not be university related, but in a way if was not for the university this many people would not be here. The friendly environment, the happiness.

Studying Physical Engineering at the University of Coimbra was one of the best decisions I ever made! The program is challenging but incredibly rewarding. The professors are great; most of them know what they’re talking about, except for one professor (names undisclosed), who’s worse than awful. It would be better to ask chatgpt to teach the classes. Fortunately, many of them are involved in research projects, and anyone interested can join them, potentially earning a financial return. The university breathes history, the city is beautiful, and it has that student atmosphere that only Coimbra can provide. Unfortunately, some of the departments are outdated and in need of renovation. Overall, I highly recommend it. Good luck with your studies 🫡

I think that the good points about my university are, without a doubt, the academic culture, and the quality of the professors. For sure the infrastructure is the biggest problem, and much of the students choose not to come because of that, and with that, the real quality of the classes turns out to be shadowed.

Each course seems quite appropriate and provides excellent and diverse training. The only drawback is the lack of updated technology resources, some of which are in need of maintenance or even outdated. The teachers are generally excellent.

The program of physics engeneering is extensive. We have a really solid mathmatic basis and all courses are mandatory (for bachleur’s). This grants good prepararion for master’s and workplace. We have at least one course per semester dedicated to the lab, so we are always in touch with the practical aplications of other classes.

I write this review as someone in the 3rd year of the Physics Engineering degree, in the Department of Physics of the University of Coimbra.
In general, I’d give the course and the university in general a very positive review. The facilities are almost all of very high quality, and the cafeterias mostly have very good food for afordable prices.
The programme is well thought out, and covers all the topics a physics engineering student needs to know before venturing into the job market.
I have mixed feelings about my professors. Some were very good, explaining some very complex subjects really well and, in general, being awesome people, and others not so much. Any professor who believes they are better than others simply because they’re older and know more tend to be not as nice to learn from.
The city in general, although it has its problems, it’s a great place to be in with lots of activity both during the day and the night.
The major problem is the lack of residential zones close to the university that both have decent conditions and are afordable. The housing crysis is a big problem everyone studying here is facing. Also the transit system could be better, the city being old means it has old infrastructure that doesn’t meet trafic demands.
All this being said, I definitely recommend the UC to anyone who can enroll in it.

I’m a physical engineering student at the Faculty of Science and Technology, and I consider the program adequate despite being quite theoretical. Overall, I have a good appreciation for the classes. Regarding infrastructure, I think the department could use some updating and a bit more modernization, but it has all the basic amenities for students. That said, I would recommend the faculty to a friend.

Overall, I really like the university, but I think the materials for conducting experiments are a bit old, so many of them end up not working very well. Some of the infrastructure isn’t in the best condition, so I think they should invest some money to improve the university in that regard. Despite everything, I recommend the University of Coimbra.

Hello, I am a student of electrical engineering and computers at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Coimbra.
I think the college program is well defined, however there is a lack of practical components in some subjects.
The conditions at Deec (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) are great.
I would recommend the college to a friend!
