Like any other aspiring students, I too, saw PUP as one of the best universities. Mainly due to a few of my cousins had gone there and I heard stories of how fulfilling it was to be a part of this university. They were right about so many things, and I certainly wasn’t surprised about what its lacking as my expectations were properly set. Generally, I’d like to believe that I still received a higher quality of education compare to other state Us. However, I also know that there were professors who could have provided the education their students deserved. I know that whatever skills and knowledge I have now were honed over the course of my stay in PUP. This is where I built my confidence, obtained a certain level of competitiveness, and the natural urge to deliver your best. I studied alongside very intelligent people, and there’s the feeling that you don’t want to be the dumbest person in the room. So, this aspect pushes you to study more.
My college experience just really forced me to be independent but at the same time, not to be too cool to ask for help.
I can say that PUP pushes you out of your comfort zone, enlighten you to some of very controversial discussions and not be a uncultured swine.
It’s not a perfect university. Like any other government-owned schools, it’s lacking in structural development, the facilities are just not very student-friendly, and frankly speaking, not an ideal and comfortable learning environment. So, you tolerate what you can until you graduate.
Nonetheless, my overall experience in PUP is still one of the best because it’s the perfect combination of good and bad. Up to this very day when I meet a fellow Isko/Iska, I love exchanging stories and finding common ground in our experiences. PUP all the way!
View moreIf I’m gonna be honest, my expectations with PUP before I got in were really high probably because of stories and experiences of former students, but it was very contradicting with my experience because the facilities really need to be upgraded. Although I have to consider that it is a public university, I hope even just the comfort rooms can be maintained as well as the electric fans since it is very hot in the Philippines and the rooms are very crowded. The professors, some are good, but some are also not competitive enough. Overall, PUP really delivers quality education despite of its flaws, however I hope it would be improved for betterment because a lot of Filipino youth dreams of getting in there. 🙂
View morePUP is a very good university that offers free education with high-quality education. However, the facilities are quite old and the rooms were too small. There are rooms that don’t have enough chairs.
View moreIn terms of the knowledge you can acquire while studying at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, I believe that it is no doubt remarkable. Our professors show their mastery in the courses they handle. But in terms of the facilities, I can say that they were not at their finest. Comfort rooms are the greatest downfall of the university facilities. Nevertheless, I would still recommend it to others.
