My overall impression of the university is highly positive. One of the most commendable aspects is its commitment to maintaining a strict and reliable academic calendar—an outstanding achievement for a public university in Nigeria. Additionally, the institution boasts highly qualified lecturers who demonstrate strong expertise in their respective fields. In my department, the teaching methods are regularly updated to align with current academic standards and modern learning approaches.
While the classrooms are fairly conducive for learning, there is still room for improvement to match the infrastructure quality seen in some private universities. The science laboratories, in particular, would benefit from renovation and the addition of modern equipment to enhance practical learning experiences.
Furthermore, I believe the university could improve students’ well-being by providing more comfortable relaxation or waiting areas where students can unwind between classes. Lastly, streamlining the final-year clearance process for B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students would go a long way in improving administrative efficiency and student satisfaction.
Overall, the university continues to show great promise and dedication to academic excellence, with just a few areas that require attention for an even more exceptional learning environment.
View more1. At Lasu Faculty of Education, it is very rigourous and engaging. Lectures and well given.
2. Investment in Infrastructure is greatly needed. More lecture halls will greatly improve the quality of education in the faculty. Smart boards and we functioning PAS will be so beneficial.
3. I would recommend Lasu to anyone because it seems to be getting better every year.
The campus life in Lagos state university stood out most for me, with alot of activities, night outs, or even trips to attend but the down side is the expensiveness of these trips. Also the university has adequate lecture rooms and halls
View moreI had a great experience at Lagos state university. The classes are extraordinary and educative. My lecturers are good at what they do, they make sure we learn. They impact not just lecture and I really appreciate all their efforts
View moreMy opinion generally about lasu is a good one, the key thing I love is the scraping of Asuu while the key thing I dislike is the regulation of what to wear and what not to wear , but overall I would definitely recommend lasu
View moreMy experience at Lagos State University (LASU) has been a combination of engaging academic moments and demanding challenges. The university offers a wide range of programmes, and I found my course intellectually stimulating, although sometimes overwhelming. Some lecturers are truly passionate about their fields and do their best to support students, which I appreciated a lot.
One of the things I like was the fact that LASU is quite stable academically—we don’t experience the frequent strikes common in many Nigerian public universities, which allows for smoother academic progress. The school calendar is fairly predictable, and that’s a big plus.
However, I also encountered issues such as large class sizes, limited access to practical resources, and occasional administrative bottlenecks. The learning environment could be better in terms of infrastructure, and some aspects of campus life can feel stressful and underdeveloped.
Despite the difficulties, being at LASU has taught me resilience, time management, and how to make the most of what’s available. I believe students who are focused and adaptable will benefit from their time here. I would recommend LASU to those looking for a solid education at a public university in Nigeria with a relatively steady academic calendar.
View moreAs a student at Lagos state university, I can say that the journey has deeply influenced my academic and personal growth. For me, what stood out in my first year was the attention to the security of students and fortunately for me, I have continued to enjoy the benefits as a student. Another thing that stood out was the vast knowledge and intelligence my lecturers showed and have continued to show, in their fields of study.
However some areas could use some attention, such as more available classes and a steady supply of electricity.
Overall, my time at Lagos state university has been a good one. I have gained knowledge and formed long lasting connections.

My School environment is very conducive for learning, throughout my studies in the Lagos State University I cam boast of a conducive learning environment.
This is proven with adequate research and analysis.
I think Lagos State University is a very good school. The Lecturers are great and it’s a very efficient learning center. But the university does not have different courses to choose from and you just have to settle for whatever you are given
