My experience at Lagos State University (LASU) has been a combination of engaging academic moments and demanding challenges. The university offers a wide range of programmes, and I found my course intellectually stimulating, although sometimes overwhelming. Some lecturers are truly passionate about their fields and do their best to support students, which I appreciated a lot.
One of the things I like was the fact that LASU is quite stable academically—we don’t experience the frequent strikes common in many Nigerian public universities, which allows for smoother academic progress. The school calendar is fairly predictable, and that’s a big plus.
However, I also encountered issues such as large class sizes, limited access to practical resources, and occasional administrative bottlenecks. The learning environment could be better in terms of infrastructure, and some aspects of campus life can feel stressful and underdeveloped.
Despite the difficulties, being at LASU has taught me resilience, time management, and how to make the most of what’s available. I believe students who are focused and adaptable will benefit from their time here. I would recommend LASU to those looking for a solid education at a public university in Nigeria with a relatively steady academic calendar.
